What are the vitamins in medicinal plants ? Plants in general including medicinal plants depending on the species include vitamins A, B, C, E, K, D2 and nutrients such as Zinc, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium, etc. Vitamins co-catalyse many reactions in our body, so it is important to have all vitamins regularely in our diet!

What do we know about Vitamin B ?  There are 8 Vitamins B (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12) and they are called vitamin B because people were thinking at the beginning that there are only two type of vitamins, vitamin A and vitamins B! Vitamins B12 is not synthesized by plants but is tranfered trought interaction wih bacteria. Most of vitamins B can be stored in our body only a few weeks or months, except vitamin B12 which can be stored longeur.

What about Vitamin A ? Beta-Carotene is the major source of vitamin A in diet and if you are deficient in Vitamin A, you might develop dry skin and other skin desorders or have abnormal vision especially in the dark!

Do we find vitamin C in medicinal plants ? Vitamin C present in many medicinal plants is very important for the synthesis of collagen and many other important body biosynthesis. Vitamin A, B, C and E and K have antioxidant proprieties and may reduce risk of many diseases and risk of cancer. Therefore, consuming vitamins daily is very important!
